MagicJack.com – Free local and long distance calling in the USA and Canada

YMax Corp, the Palm Beach based company introduced the VoIP pioneer service called MagicJack. MagicJack has now come up with its latest version and can be used on your PC with high speed internet connection.

It plugs into a PC as an USB, which needs a broadband Internet connection. The device then detects when a compatible SoftPhone comes with a calling dial. The user enters a short code (Secret code or pin number) on the phone. The phone is then linked to the MagicJack, and the calls last till u signify within the coverage. Approximately it covers a 3,000-square-foot home). MagicJack routes the call themselves over the Internet, rather than routing through the carrier’s cellular tower.

No minutes or charges are detected from the subscribers account with the carrier/operator. Extra bucks for international calls are subtracted from the user’s account with MagicJack, not the carrier. You can save minutes and boost indoor call quality. The connection will be wireless

The device can mingle with all kind of GSM mobiles on any band, including locked phones and the Apple iPhone, AT & T and T Phones but not all cellular phones in US.

The size of Magicjack is just like a size of a deck of cards. The device can detects when a compatible cell phone comes within 8 feet, and avail calls to it. But many are puzzled with a shocking cost of Magicjack.

Yah, it just cost only $40 and also includes one free year of service, then charges $20 for subsequent years. As it is cheaper, Many had a kind of belief that the device is illegal to use. However, according to Dan Borislow, the CEO of YMax Corp, the device is undoubtedly legal because wireless spectrum license don’t extend into the home.

The device is tested with a T mobile user who was present on the demonstration session of Magicjack. And it worked well with the system.

Ymax planned to start selling their updated SoftPhone application ‘MagicJack’ device around the second quarter of this year, most probably by may 2010.
