Google Voice Now In Gmail To Make And Receive Calls

Yes it does sound good. And it is good ploy from Google Voice. They have integrated Google voice into Gtalk via Gmail.

Now one can make and receive phone calls directly from there browser to any number in US And Canada. And this facility will be free to use till end of this year for both of these countries. For other countries, if you fall in Google Voice allowed countries then you can pay small cost and make calls directly from you Gmail account. All you have to is to download Google Talk plugin for your Gmail. You need to install voice and video plug-in also if you don’t have it.

You can also receive your calls through this service, which is made by any of your added contact in Google Voice. You can add your contact phone numbers with this service too. You just need to check the box next to Google Chat of your list of forwarding phones, to receive phone calls. So that if someone calls you next time you get notified on your browser itself. If you are not available at that time you can receive voice massage the next time you log in your computer.

And if you want to make calls, you can just click the make phone call button and enter the number of the contact person, and you get connected.

I will say this is good for those who has bad receivers signal in their areas while receiving phone calls. If you have WIFI enabled in your areas you can now make and receive calls. One of the good features of this facility is that if you got call on your computer you can divert in your cell phone and have the call on the move.

Rates & Call Quality:

As I said this facility is free in USA And Canada till end of this year and for other international countries it is 2 cent for most of them for landline numbers. Mobile Calls are also lesser compare to other service providers. You can check the rates here.

Call quality is said to be as good as any other service provider. For India call rate from USA is 6 cent per minute. You don’t need to pay for service and connection fees for it. While for other provider you need to pay these. You can compare Prices here.

As many of us know Google Voice is not yet enabled in India, so Indians could not benefit this service now. But I think this will be launched very soon.
